I was willing to go through the learning curve, as all new softwares have, (tho I forget there being a learning curve with iWeb it seemed so natural)! I just don't want to spend 100+ hours transferring my 200+ pages from iWeb to EverWeb, if EverWeb will later go out of business, as iWeb did. I don't want to feel that I need to have an IQ of 180 in computer-tech to run a website. I would ask, and I didn't understand the answers, and when I followed the directions, it didn't fit. I kept hitting snags on the simplest things. I want to like EverWeb (wish they never changed their name from EasyWeb), and over a year ago, read up on it, got their Beta plan, but never could get the hang of it. I do agree we shouldn't count on it, and prepare with another webbuilder. but it's not impossible that Apple comes up with an easy web builder such as iWeb, but with more up-to-date features. Heaven forbid someone saying anything negative about EveryWeb (which again, I *really* want to like!). I cringe when I see another trash you simply b/c your opinion is different than his (he sure is an authority!!), and I admire you when you keep your composure and don't drop to his level. JRIH - I appreciate your honest input and opinions. However, their customer support seems fantastic.

There's oodles of information and outside reviews on so many of the alternatives. Before doing so, I google-searched reviews about the company, and came up with very little information on them, other than these comments on these apple discussions, and their own website. I was looking at Webacapella (sp?) a while back, maybe I'll look some more. Maybe your experience with them will be better. Anyway, a couple of more days and I am so done with Rage. In fact, reading their blogs, the only ones who seem be having success, are the ones using Rage's provider service, but maybe that's just me reading into it. Machighway charges me $49.95 a year for 5 gigs. Yesterday, they suggested that "maybe I would want to use their hosting service". It's been a number of days, uploading TEST directories, and nothing yet. There has been a lot of talk on other threads that you have to use Rage's hosting service with Everweb, even though Rage claims you can use any provider. I finally reinstalled my iWeb site with absolutely no problem. I am also working with Rage to figure it out. I spent a lot of time with them, Machighway, and could find no problem at that end. I even had them wipe my files so that I could do a clean install. I tried the Everweb ftp provided, Cyberduck, Filezilla and it just won't appear on my provider. Most SEO is built into the program, but you need a couple of Roddy's widgets to do a couple of things.Īnyway, the great day comes and….

Roddy helped out by making a bunch of widgets which really speed up the process.

EVERWEB SEO MANUAL

There are basic support videos and a good blog, but no manual worth the name. It has a slightly steeper learning curve than iWeb, but once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty quickly. No you can't import the files, you go from scratch. I bought Everweb and spent the next several weeks rebuilding my website on Everweb. There has been a lot of discussion here about an iWeb replacement, especially Everweb.
